With a number of publications, communities and other resources that exist to promote beer festivals and provide potential attendees with better information, finding out all you need to can be done very easily. 1.) If you’re not a heavy drinker, there’s an old Navy trick to help you endure more drinks than you’re used to. You basically need to burn some toast and then eat it. It will taste awful, but the charred toast will help absorb the alcohol before it metabolizes and gives you the spins.

2.) Stick to one type of alcohol. Some of these “beer” fests can sometimes include other alcoholic beverages. Mixing and matching drinks is a surefire way to get sick.

3.) If you can manage it, bring a friend who can serve as the designated driver. You better believe cops are on the lookout during these events.

Oktoberfest – Munich, Germany

Oktoberfest is the largest beer festival in the world. A 16-day festival, with over 5 million people attending and 1.5 million gallons of beer, it’s an extravaganza that a true beer enthusiast shouldn’t miss!

Brussels Beer Weekend-Brussels, Belgium

Not only is Belgium beer the most potent but it has the largest range of distinctively different beers and labels in the world. Belgium offers you a unique range of beers having the most contrasting tastes and flavors.

Great American Beer Festival-Denver, Colorado

The Great American Beer Festival serves the largest selection of American brews from over 400 breweries. Visitors from all over sample more than 2,000 different American beers, and nearly 100 judges evaluate beer in the competition.

Vermont’s Brewers Festival – Burlington, Vermont

No only does Vermont have more breweries per person than any other state, each brewery is a microbrewery. So if you are an avid beer connoisseur and dedicated to preserving the environment and local food culture, this is the place for you!

Great World Beer Festival – New York City, New York

A two day festival that is dedicated to promoting craft beers and brewers from around the world. If you are looking for something new this is definitely the place to go!

There are many tasting events going on during the World Beer Expo. These range from detailed analysis of single varieties to a sampling of imports. Beer aficionados often come out of these events with a new personal favorite. There are many all-natural microbreweries present that offer guided tours of their facilities. Organic brewers also have a formidable presence with free samples galore.

Plenty of huge beer companies also show up to the World Beer Expo to try to gain more loyal customers through giveaways. They host trivia contests and pass out free shirts, can cozies and other brand paraphernalia. No beer event would be complete without hotdog and burger vendors. Many Chicago breweries are offering samples, drink specials and events. This is a great time to drink a favorite beer for a reduced price or discover a new craft beer.
