If you get all your TV through services like www.tvbydirect.com/directv-deals.html then you’ve probably seen the film Beerfest floating around on demand (though I can’t imagine why). If that film is any indication of what a real Beerfest is like, then truly it is the pinnacle of machismo and manliness.

Or it’s just a horrible comedy that isn’t very good.

Very little of that film is based on fact and, contrary to popular belief, preparing for the Beer Fest doesn’t make you less of a man. There are lots of ways to prepare for the Beer Fest and below are a few ways:

1.) If you’re not a heavy drinker, there’s an old Navy trick to help you endure more drinks than you’re used to. You basically need to burn some toast and then eat it. It will taste awful, but the charred toast will help absorb the alcohol before it metabolizes and gives you the spins.

2.) Stick to one type of alcohol. Some of these “beer” fests can sometimes include other alcoholic beverages. Mixing and matching drinks is a surefire way to get sick.

3.) If you can manage it, bring a friend who can serve as the designated driver. You better believe cops are on the lookout during these events.

There is a lot to do during an event like the World Beer Expo. There are hundreds of vendors with countless varieties of beer, ale and mead. This ancient beverage has been enjoyed by kings and paupers alike for centuries due to its inviting aroma and pleasing texture. The high regard that society has garnered for this malted beverage is evident by just taking a look around an event as involved as this one.

There are many tasting events going on during the World Beer Expo. These range from detailed analysis of single varieties to a sampling of imports. Beer aficionados often come out of these events with a new personal favorite. There are many all-natural microbreweries present that offer guided tours of their facilities. Organic brewers also have a formidable presence with free samples galore.

Plenty of huge beer companies also show up to the World Beer Expo to try to gain more loyal customers through giveaways. They host trivia contests and pass out free shirts, can cozies and other brand paraphernalia. No beer event would be complete without hotdog and burger vendors. There are plenty of these throughout the event space. Free stuff, hotdogs and beer collide in one amazing event during the World Beer Expo.

Beer lovers will find paradise at the Chicago Craft Beer Week. Over 200 venues participate in this event that features well known and unheard of beers. Beer aficionados attend to spend time in the bustling city and enjoy the only 11 day week anywhere. Chicago’s Craft Beer Week lasts 11 days, which allows participants to enjoy a huge amount of beer and good times.

This year’s event runs from May 17-27. The third year of this tradition in the making kicked off at the
Garfield Park Conservatory with Beer Under The Glass. Many craft brewers gathered and poured drinks in this historic, beautiful space.Check out this link here. A closing party will take place at Revolution Brewing’s new location and a lot of drinking is already occurring in the time in between.

Many Chicago breweries are offering samples, drink specials and events. This is a great time to drink a favorite beer for a reduced price or discover a new craft beer. Any bar who has served craft beer for over a year can participate, so there are many spots to hit. Other American cities have their own beer week at this time. Only Chicago’s event offers the best beer and lasts 11 days.

What could make a visit to the gorgeous Hawaiian Island of Maui even more enjoyable? How about participation in the annual Brewers Beer Festival at which guests are invited to sample 24 of the world’s best and most creative craft beers, all the while helping a charitable cause! The Maui Arts and Cultural Center is the recipient of the funds raised by this annual event, begun in 2008. Of course Festival organizers don’t expect guests to imbibe solo, providing plenty of opportunities to savor some of the most popular restaurant specialties and snacks from local vendors.

Purchase a ticket to this beer paradise in the land of Aloha and you’re entitled to sample eight four-ounce mugs of brewskis, along with unlimited snacks and parking charges covered. The Happy Hour Package sells out very quickly and Festival veterans know this is their best ticket value. It provides reserved parking spaces, early admission to the MACC grounds in Kahalui, as well as commemorative festival gifts. The Brewers Beer Festival even offers a special package for the designated driver in your group, providing the teetotaler with unlimited soft drinks as well as snacks so they don’t feel left out of the drinking fun.
