If you get all your TV through services like www.tvbydirect.com/directv-deals.html then you’ve probably seen the film Beerfest floating around on demand (though I can’t imagine why). If that film is any indication of what a real Beerfest is like, then truly it is the pinnacle of machismo and manliness.
Or it’s just a horrible comedy that isn’t very good.
Very little of that film is based on fact and, contrary to popular belief, preparing for the Beer Fest doesn’t make you less of a man. There are lots of ways to prepare for the Beer Fest and below are a few ways:
1.) If you’re not a heavy drinker, there’s an old Navy trick to help you endure more drinks than you’re used to. You basically need to burn some toast and then eat it. It will taste awful, but the charred toast will help absorb the alcohol before it metabolizes and gives you the spins.
2.) Stick to one type of alcohol. Some of these “beer” fests can sometimes include other alcoholic beverages. Mixing and matching drinks is a surefire way to get sick.
3.) If you can manage it, bring a friend who can serve as the designated driver. You better believe cops are on the lookout during these events.
There is a lot to do during an event like the World Beer Expo. There are hundreds of vendors with countless varieties of beer, ale and mead.
